As a result of the dhamma service conducted by most reverend Kiribathgoda Gnanananda Thero, on the honourable request of Sri Lankan youths who reside in South Korea, a Mahamevnawa Meditation monastery was established in Ansan on 11th May 2014 in Ansan which is one of the major cities in South Korea in which thousands of Sri Lankan labourers have been occupied. More than 30000 Sri Lankans are occupied in other areas of this country. A lot of youths from many areas have joined the Mahamevnawa meditation monastery and giving affort to get their lives in to a good path by listening to dhamma, protecting precepts, meditating and developing good qualities. In fact, it is great pleasure. Meanwhile youths from Deagu, Goje-Do, Busan, Ulsan, Chungju, Gumi have joined the monastery as well. Their effort to gain a protection in Gautama Buddha’s dispensation is highly admirable while leading an extremely busy, tiresome and restless life style.
Even though Korea has been a Buddhist country in the past, at the present many people do not have a religion for themselves or do not follow any teaching from their religious leaders.Therefore turning into other religions is taking place rapidly. Another service provided by the mahamevnawa monastery is, opening a way for the Korean disciples to make their lives better through supreme buddha’s teachings.
• Monthly dhamma programme on the second Sunday of every month at the monastery premises from 8.30a.m. – 4.30p.m.
• Monthly dhamma programme on the fourth Sunday of every month at Thegu from 8.30a.m. – 4.30p.m. (Deagu Bulgiyo Theahak – Gwangeumsa)
• Evening Buddha Vandana on every day at the monastery.
• Bodhi Vandana on every Sundays.
• Dhamma sermon via the internet on every Wednesdays.
• Dhamma Discussion via the internet on every Saturdays.
• Dhamma Discussion via the internet on every Tuesdays for the Sri Lanakan disciples occupied in Japan.
Apart from these events, meritorious activities including Short dhamma sermons, Homage to 7 Buddhas, offering alms are held inside and outside the monastery.
පූජ්ය කිරිබත්ගොඩ ඤාණානන්ද ස්වාමීන් වහන්සේ ගේ සදහම් සේවාවේ ප්රතිඵලයක් ලෙස දකුණු කොරියාවේ වාසය කරන ශ්රී ලාංකික තරුණ පිරිසකගේ ගෞරවනීය ඉල්ලීම මත 2014-05-11 දින Ansan නගරයේ මහමෙව්නාව භාවනා අසපුවක් ආරම්භ විය. Ansan යනු දකුණු කොරියාවේ ප්රධාන නගර වලින් එකකි. මෙය ශ්රී ලාංකික ශ්රමිකයන් දහස් ගණනක් සේවය කරන නගරයකි. මේ රටේ අන් ප්රදේශ ගත් කල තිස්දහසකට අධික ශ්රී ලාංකිකයන් පිරිසක් සේවය කරති. බොහෝ ප්රදේශ වලින් විශාල තරුණ පිරිසක් මහමෙව්නාව භාවනා අසපුවට සම්බන්ධ වී ධර්මය ශ්රවණය කරමින්, සිල් ආරක්ෂා කරමින් භාවනා ආදී ගුණධර්ම දියුණු කරමින් තම ජීවිතය යහමගට ගැනීමට වෙර දරමින් සිටිති. එය සැබැවින්ම සතුටට කරුණකි. මේ අතර Deagu, Goje-Do, Busan, Ulsan, Chungju, Gumi ආදී ප්රදේශ වලින් තරුණ පිරිස් සම්බන්ධ වී සිටිති. මේ පින්වතුන් අතිශය කාර්ය බහුල වෙහෙසකර අවිවේකී ජීවිතයක් ගත කරමින් ගෞතම සසුනේ පිළිසරණ ලබන්නට දරන උත්සාහය හද සසල කරවන සුළුයි.
කොරියාව අතීතයේ බෞද්ධ රටක් වුවද මේ වන විට බොහෝ පිරිසකට ආගමක් නොමැත. ඒ නිසා වේගයෙන් අන්යාගමිකකරණයට ලක්වෙමින් පවතී. කොරියන් ජාතික පින්වතුන්ට ද බුදුරජාණන් වහන්සේ ගේ ධර්මය තුළින් ජීවිතය සැපවත් කරගන්නට මංපෙත් විවර කිරීම මහමෙව්නාවේ අභිප්රායකි. මේ වන විටත් කොරියන් ජාතික පින්වතුන් සැලකිය යුතු පිරිසක් මහමෙව්නාවට හිතෛෂීව සම්බන්ධ වී කටයුතු කරති. ඔවුන් හැකි අයුරින් උදව් කරමින් ජීවිත වලට පින්දහම් සිදුකර ගනිති.

- සෑම මසකම පළමුවෙනි ඉරු දින සවස 3.00 සිට සවස 5.00 දක්වා කොරියානු ජාතික පින්වතුන් වෙනුවෙන් අසපුව තුළ සිදු කරන භාවනා වැඩසටහන
- සෑම දිනකම අසපුවේ සිදුකරන බුද්ධ වන්දනාව රාත්රී 8.30 සිට 9.30 දක්වා
